Pre-Production

Successful live music recording begins with meticulous pre-production planning and setup. All essential logistics should be managed beforehand, ensuring a flawless and efficient recording day.

The process starts with a scouting and assessing the venue, where we evaluate the room acoustics, lighting conditions, and power access to determine the best locations for audio capture and multi-camera video placement. This leads into technical planning, where the exact equipment—from microphones and multi-track recorders to camera gear— is matched to your specific event size and style.

Then we work with the venue staff to establish clear load-in, setup, and soundcheck schedules. Finally, we define your specific goals for the final deliverable (sound aesthetic, video style, and file formats). By laying this groundwork, we guarantee the final product is a superior, stress-free capture that meets your vision.

Production

Production day is about executing the pre-production plan to capture your performance. We arrive with all necessary equipment, handling the meticulous setup of audio and video gear.

For audio, this involves placing specialized microphones to capture every instrument and vocal track individually (multi-track recording). Simultaneously, we position multiple cameras strategically to cover wide shots and close-ups, ensuring full coverage of the live performance.

Every note, cue, and movement is time-stamped and recorded in high definition. We work discreetly to integrate seamlessly with the event, focusing on capturing the raw energy of the moment without interfering with the live experience. Once the performance concludes, we swiftly and safely strike the set and prepare the captured media for the post-production phase.

Post-Production

Post-Production is where the captured raw media is transformed into a polished final product. This phase begins with the multi-track audio files, which are imported into digital audio workstations (DAWs). The engineer performs Audio Mixing, balancing volume, adjusting equalization (EQ), compression, and applying effects to create depth and clarity. This is followed by Mastering, optimizing the final stereo track loudness and quality for various platforms (e.g., streaming, CD).

Simultaneously, the video editor works with the multiple camera feeds. Video Editing involves syncing the pristine, mixed audio with the visual tracks, creating dynamic cuts, transitions, and optimizing the visual flow. Color Correction and Grading standardize the look and establish the desired aesthetic. The final steps include noise reduction, format conversion, and exporting the finished video and audio files in high-resolution, client-ready formats.
